Welcome
I've been thinking about doing this for a while and, well, it's New Year's Eve and I figured it's as good a time as any. Why you ask... well, I'm terrible at doing a daily journal and seems like there are things in life that you just need to write down and share with people. Plus, I've become addicted to keeping a photographic (and since my wife bought me a video camera for Christmas) and video record of the places I've been and the things I've seen, so I thought it would be cool to share some of the images with people.
So, who am I? Just a normal guy who is trying to understand what this thing called "life" is all about. I've spent a considerable amount of time collecting degrees (Michigan State University twice and Marylhurst University) and recently obtained certification as a Swift Water Rescue Technician. I now enjoy a comfortable career that allows me to enjoy my passions: whitewater kayaking and the outdoors. Luckily, I live in Portland, Oregon, so numerous rivers and the beautiful Pacific Northwest lie right outside my door. The coolest thing though, is that I'm married to the same wonderful woman who introduced me to kayaking... seriously, how lucky can a guy be????
So, here's where I begin to share my adventures (and quite a few misadventures) with you all...
Enjoy and I'll see you on the river.

Jimster- you are so cool. I think your blog will be great fun...in fact, it will be "funner" when you get a dobermann so that my dobermann has someone to play with! We can give them TOURKEY treats:) You and Shell are too cute and I am so glad you work with me (hihi) and are open to continuous harrasment!
ReplyDeleteCiao!
Look at my friend, Jimms, and how he is all grown up!
ReplyDeletewow!...wow...WOW!
ReplyDeleteI was scrolling over the images in your blog and reading your various text, and was absolutely dumbfounded by your guys' extreme dare and fearlessness in the kayaking world; I can hardly kayak around a lake--forget going down waterfalls of any size!
This was amazingly cool to look at--I can hardly wait to see some more of your guys' adventures.
Truly daring!

I never saw the photo of the big carrot. What the hell is wrong with my face. Perhaps it was the beer.
